Long & Foster Community Service Day June 3rd
The Arlington Office of Long & Foster Realtors will be participating in a company wide Community Service Day on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Agents in the office as well as the community are invited to bring canned goods and non-perishable items or make cash contributions for the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Hotdogs and refreshments will be served from 5-7 pm outside the Long & Foster office at 4600 Lee Highway. Come meet your neighbors and support the community.
Free Trees
Once again, Arlington is offering free trees to residents through its local civic associations. This year, tree whips from the Bur Oak and American Hazel are being offered in 5 gallon containers. Contact your local civic association tree representative for more information.
Taste of Arlington scheduled for May 17th
Arlington’s largest single day event features food from over 40 area restaurants, live entertainment and children’s activities. This year it will be held on Sunday, May 17th from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM on Wilson Blvd. next to Ballston Common Mall. Tickets and more information are available online at tasteofarlington.com.
Film Festivals in Arlington Begin
Last Summer my family and I spent many Friday nights at Rosslyn’s Gateway Park enjoying James Bond movies under the stars. This Summer tthe free movies begin May 1st and run through September 4th. For a complete schedule, go to the Rosslyn Film Festival website.
Crystal City kicks off their own outdoor film festival Monday May 4th with showings of films about Superheros in the courtyard across from the Crystal City Metro Station. The festival runs through September 21st. Their schedule is found at this site.
