Fire Station No. 3 opens

Arlington County has announced that Fire Dept. No. 3 in Cherrydale opened today, July 26th, 2011. The public is invited to a dedication ceremony on Friday July 29th at 2PM where they will have a ceremonial uncoupling of a fire house (serving as a “ribbon-cutting”) and a community open house on Saturday, July 30th from 10-2. when visitors can tour the state-of-the-art facility, meet the firefighters and check out the equipment. Arlington/Washington DC Metropolitan Area at Top of List of Home Price gains

ClearCapital’s Home Data Index Forecast shows price declines nationally but rising in five major metropolitan areas, including the Washington DC/Arlington/Alexandria area which is at the top of the list.  They show an increase in home prices of 4.4% for the first six months of 2011 with a projected increase of 2.4% for the remaining six months of the year.


Come Watch Washington Capitals Prospects at their Summer Development Camp

2011’s Summer Development Camp for Washington Capitals Prospects will be held July 11th-16th at the Kettler Iceplex at Ballston. All on-ice sessions, including the three intrasquad games, are free and open to the public.  Capitals prospects who are under contract as well as recent Capitals draft picks who have not been signed yet will be in attendance.  The camp will wrap up with a Fan Fest on  Saturday, July 16, beginning at 10 AM.  The Fan Fest is a will  feature an intrasquad scrimmage as well as the team’ annual equipment sale, interactive games, autographs and public skating.

Arlington Pediatric Center Bollywood for BabiesArlington Pediatric Center will be holding a Bollywood themed benefit on Friday July 15th, 2011 from 7-11 pm at Washington Golf and Country Club.    The event will include a Bollywood Bar & Cocktail Buffet, music and dancing with DJ Lucky, a henna artist, and silent and live auction items.  Tickets for the event are $125 per person.  

Arlington Pediatric Center (APC) was established in 2001 with the goal of building a healthier community through providing quality medical care to thousands of Arlington children.
