911 foundation memorial rideAmerica’s 911 Foundation is having their annual  motorcycle ride 8/19-20 to remember and honor those who lost their lives on 9/11 and to raise money for programs that support families of first responders, awarding college scholarships to their children and contributing equipment to emergency responder departments.  An estimated 3000 motorcyclists will be traveling along I-66 Eastbound and 110 South on the afternoon of Friday 8/19.  These roads will be closed to traffic from 2:30 to 4:00.  They will be en route to Pentagon City where they are holding a free concert by Aaron Tippin on Army Navy Drive beside the Pentagon. Visitors to the concert are encouraged to use Metro as there is likely to be traffic congestion in the area.  Army Navy Drive will be closed from S. 12th Street to S. Fern Street from 9:30 a.m. to midnight.
