A gift from the Dutch people after American aid during and after World War II, the Netherlands Carillonhas chimes that play daily on the hour between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Other patriotic tunes are played at special times through the year and concerts are presented on Saturdays and national holidays from May through September. On Labor Day, 9/6 a guest artist will play the 50 bell carillon from 2-4 PM. The site offers a panoramic view of Washington, DC and is a popular picnic spot.
