Arlington Forest Neighborhood Highlights
Arlington Forest, located about a mile west of the Ballston Common Mall, is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2014. The community is bordered by Carlin Springs Road and divided by Arlington Boulevard. The Northside and Greenbrier sections lie north of Arlington Boulevard and Southside section to the south. Most of the 850 homes in the neighborhood were built by the Meadowbrook Company in the 1940’s and are brick colonials. But over time, many homeowners have renovated, remodeled or expanded to meet the needs of today’s families.
Many residents of Arlington Forest belong to the Arlington Forest Club, a self owned swim and tennis club located on Carlin Springs Road.
Lubber Run Park provides a shady respite with trails and picnic areas and the amphitheater provides summer entertainment with live theater, music, dance and comedy routines. The Arlington Forest Shopping Center also services the neighborhood.
Homes north of Arlington Blvd. attend Barrett Elementary, Kenmore Middle School and Washington-Lee High School, while homes on the south side attend Barcroft Elementary, Kenmore Middle School and Wakefield High School.
