The Arlington Artists Alliance will be holding its annual pre-holiday Artful Weekend at Fort C.F. Smith Park November 21st to 23rd, 2014.

The event is located in the historic 1902 Hendry House at 2411 N. 24th Road.  A popular pre-holiday event in our community, the weekend art show and sale features the work of nearly 40 Arlington-based artists, and includes paintings of many genres, ceramics, sculpture, artists cards, unframed works and more. Great for holiday shopping!

The Opening Reception will be held on Friday, November 21 from 6-8pm; come meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments in the historic 1902 Hendry House. The show will also be open 10am-5pm Saturday, November 22 and 12 noon-4pm on Sunday, November 23. Free and open to the public.

Dominion Hills Craft Show Saturday, November 2nd, 2013

Shop Local. . . Really Local!

The Tenth Annual Dominion Hills Fall Craft Show will be held Saturday, November 2nd from 10 am to 5 pm at the Dominion Hills community House at 6000 Wilson Blvd. , Arlington VA.

Twelve local and regional artisans will be featuring paintings, jewelry, fine woodturning, papercutting, stationery, scarves, pottery, bath and body products, glassware, and sweets. Admission is free and all are welcome. Come and browse these original, handcrafted works for unique and reasonably priced gifts for the holidays — or for yourself!

Solo Show by Sandi Parker

Arlington artist Sandi Parker will be having a solo show at Westover Library  June 8 – July 26 called “Spring Into Summer”.  The paintings will include scenes of cherry blossoms, France, seascapes and florals.  The show will then move to Cosi at Courthouse from August 1-31st.

Come to the Arlington Artists Alliance show “Artful Weekend at Fort CF Smith.” The catered opening reception is Friday, December 2nd, 2011 from 6-8pm, and the show runs all weekend Sat. Dec. 3rd (10-5) and Sunday Dec. 4th (12-4). This popular show features 40 Arlington artists! The show is at Fort CF Smith’s beautifully renovated Hendry House, located at 2411 N. 24th St.

Lee Arts Center at 5722 Lee Highway in North Arlington has ongoing exhibitions, workshops, and open studios in pottery, ceramic sculpture, tilemaking, and printmaking.   The Center is open Monday & Friday from 9:30 am – 6 pm, Tuesday – Thursday from 9:30 am – 9 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am – 5 pm.

Cassatt’s Kiwi Cafe & Gallery at Lee Heights is a cozy, bistro-style restaurant serving tasty dishes featuring a New Zealand flair.  They offer live music Fridays and Saturdays and a Weekend Brunch Menu. In nice weather, enjoy outdoor dining on the sidewalk out front or the rear deck. Cassatt’s also features monthly showings of work by members of the Arlington Artists Alliance and offers art classes downstairs for all ages.

The Arlington Arts Center offers classes for children, teens and adults, summer camps, and special exhibitions.  Coming up March 5th, 2011 will be a walking tour of Arlington’s forgotten spaces with a discussion of how they might be reclaimed or repurposed.

Arlington artist Sandi Parker‘s inMOTION: celebrating Arlington high school athletics is on display at Cassatt’s through 2/27. Her collection of original oil paintings include high school teams and individual athletes in a variety of sports from Washington-Lee and Yorktown high schools where her children are students. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to the schools.
