Go roller skating at Thomas Jefferson Community Center

Arlington’s Roller Skate Night at Thomas Jefferson Community Center has been a Saturday-night institution for over 30 years, and it keeps growing in popularity for good reason. Most Saturday nights from mid-October through late March, the Thomas Jefferson Community Center offers roller skating for families from 6 to 9 p.m. and teens only from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. The gym floor transforms into a full skating rink complete with a live DJ spinning crowd favorites, a moon bounce for the youngest skaters, and a cash-only concession stand —Skate rentals and skate walkers (for those still finding their balance) are available on site, making it genuinely accessible for first-timers and seasoned skaters alike.
The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a community skate night: multigenerational, joyful, slightly chaotic, and completely fun. It’s the kind of affordable, low-fuss family outing that Arlington does better than almost anywhere. Register at parks.arlingtonva.us, where you’ll find the full season schedule as dates are confirmed each fall.
