This post was originally posted for the Alpine Restaurant  in 2010 before Ermanno Tonizzo, chef and owner of the Alpine Restaurant on Lee Highway in North Arlington since 1966, retired.  The Alpine closed on Sunday, May 16th, 2010.  The word on the street was that the new owners were going to reopen as an Italian Restaurant but have now demolished the restaurant to build a day care center.
