The Armed Forces Cycling Classic is held in early to mid-June featuring two full days of riding and racing from kids to top pros in Clarendon and Crystal City. You can sign up to ride or just come out to cheer them on.
Clarendon Cup
Saturday will feature the Clarendon Cup, the Washington area’s premier Pro/Am races. High speed bike races will take place on a 1 kilometer course on city streets. There will be amateur races in the morning, followed by the women’s Pro/Am race and kids’ races, which begin at 11:35 a.m. The Men’s Pro race begins approximately 12:05 and is 100 laps.
Crystal Cup
On Sunday, races begin at 7:00am with a closed course open to cyclists of all abilities, the Air Force Association Cycling Classic’s Challenge Ride. All riders must be off the course by 10am.
Some of the top pros in the world will participate in the Men’s pro race, which will be gin immediately after the Challenge Ride. There will be kids’ races, women’s and senior men’s races later in the day.
