If you are a history buff, you might want to visit Fort C.F. Smith in the Maywood neighborhood of North Arlington, offering some of the best preserved ruins of the 22 Civil War forts that were located in Arlington. There are also trails, gardens and a restored 20th Century mansion, Hendry House, on the site. A half mile walking tour points out the highlights.
