#269 – Enjoy Coffee and Pastries at Café Tatte

Tatte Bakery & Café, the beloved Boston-born chain that has won a devoted following across the D.C. area, opened its Clarendon outpost at 2805 Clarendon Blvd in The Crossing Clarendon development. Founded in 2007 by Israeli-born baker Tzurit Or, who began selling her creations at Boston farmers markets before expanding to 18 locations across Massachusetts and the D.C. metro area, Tatte is known for its warm, community-gathering atmosphere — each location is designed with its own individual character while staying true to the original spirit of belonging and comfort. The Clarendon space is bright and open, with both indoor seating and outdoor covered tables that make it a popular people-watching perch.
The menu spans all-day breakfast and lunch, with standout dishes including soft scrambled eggs with potato fritters and tomato jam, a smoked salmon avocado sandwich on housemade challah, and an avocado toast with poached eggs on sourdough. The baked goods — especially the almond croissant, Linzer cookies, and dark chocolate muffin — are consistently praised as exceptional. Gluten-free options and full allergen labeling are available throughout the menu. Specialty coffee uses house-blend espresso. Hours are Monday–Saturday 7 a.m.–8 p.m., Sunday 8 a.m.–7 p.m. Visit tattebakery.com or call (571) 312-8691.
