Arlington Brewpub Celebrates Fall Tradition with New Oktoberfest Beers SMOKETOBERFEST and DR. PUNKINSTEIN, Authentic German Alpine Music and Delicious Oktoberfest Fare – Featuring more than 50 different breweries!
Fill up a stein and toast to fall. Celebrating 21 years of brewing more than 200 different styles of beer, Capitol City Brewing Company will host its Fourteenth Annual Mid-Atlantic Oktoberfest at The Village at Shirlington in Arlington on Saturday, October 5 from 12:00 noon – 7:00 p.m. (all beer taps close at 6:00 p.m.).
This year, Capitol City will debut two Oktoberfest additions — the Smoketoberfest and Dr. Punkinstein — as well as the popular Oktoberfest Lager. Beer enthusiasts can listen to live Alpine folk music as they sample select handcrafted beers and enjoy authentic German cuisine from a variety of local vendors and Shirlington Village eateries. Capitol City Brewing Company will also serve traditional German favorites including bratwurst, sauerkraut and the signature fresh soft pretzels.
Following a tradition that started in the early 1880s in Munich, Germany, Capitol City’s Oktoberfest is celebrating its fourteenth triumphant year. Thousands of people from the Mid-Atlantic region attend to sample more than 100 different ales and lagers from over 50 local and international breweries.
Admission for beer drinkers is $25 (one general admission pass per person), which includes a wristband, official tasting glass and 10 drink tickets. Additional drink tickets can be purchased for $1 each with a five ticket minimum. The event is free for non-drinkers and children. Oktoberfest 2013 will be held rain or shine with a limited number of tickets sold at the event.
