Summer camp season in Arlington arrives fast, and the best programs fill up faster. Arlington County Parks and Recreation runs one of the most comprehensive camp networks in Northern Virginia, with options spanning nature exploration, athletics, visual arts, performing arts, cooking, STEM, and multi-week specialty programs for children of all ages and abilities. Sign-up typically opens in late winter for summer programs, and popular camps — particularly those at the nature centers, community centers, and specialty facilities — fill within days of registration opening. Mark your calendar and get on the waitlist early.

Highlights worth knowing about: NOVA Parks’ nature camps at Gulf Branch and Long Branch Nature Centers offer immersive outdoor learning for ages 5–13. Signature Theatre’s Overtures program is an intensive two-week summer experience for teens pursuing a career in musical theater. Corobus Sports on Clarendon Boulevard runs baseball, softball, hockey, and multi-sport camps for youth athletes. And Arlington County’s community centers — Thomas Jefferson, Lubber Run, Walter Reed, Arlington Mill, and Barcroft — each host their own summer camp lineups spanning fitness, arts, and enrichment.
