Get Free Tax Preparation Help at Central Library

Each year from approximately February through mid-April, Arlington Public Library partners with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide and VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) to offer free tax preparation services to residents. IRS-certified volunteer tax counselors interview clients, prepare returns, and electronically file them on the spot — a process that typically takes about two hours per appointment. The service is especially geared toward low- and moderate-income filers and those 50 and older. Appointments are required and open in late January each year.
