#314 – Check out Mad Rose Tavern
This restaurant, bar & lounge at 3100 Clarendon Blvd. is opening February 16th, 2011, serving more than 20 beers on tap, 40 scotches and over 100 different types of wine. Food items include New Zealand lamb, Italian pork sausage and blackened redfish. This week they will be open for dinner only. Expect big crowds. Visit their Facebook page here for more information.

#313 – Drop In at Thomas Jefferson Community Center
UPDATE: 07/19/21 – Due to the pandemic indoor drop-in is currently closed but check with the community center to see if it has reopened and for the current schedule.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are adult nights at Thomas Jefferson Community Center from 6:30-10 PM with Drop In Volleyball, Basketball and Pickleball. Not familiar with pickleball? It’s a rapidly growing sport with similarities to badminton, tennis and ping pong. The center also has Cybex, Nautilus and Free weight equipment and an indoor track. Youth are allowed in the game room which has pool tables, foosball, air hockey and table tennis. Fitness membership or daily pass required.

Tallula in Clarendon is offering a special 2011 Valentine’s Day Menu designed for couples to share. Each course is available a la carte or can be ordered as a special tasting menu with wine pairings. If you don’t go there tonight, try their Neighborhood Nosh, available all night Sunday and Monday (excluding Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day), and Tuesday-Thursday from 5:30-6:30 where you can enjoy a three course menu for only $35.
