Four top wine educators from Arlington’s best wine shops, including Arrowine, Best Cellars, Curious Grape and Screwtop Wine Bar, will be conducting Thursday WineTastings 11/18- 1/13 from 6:15 to 7:30 at Town Square at the Artisphere in Rosslyn. $30 per person. This week’s tasting focuses on Wines for Thanksgiving and helps you understand which wines go best with turkey, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.

ArtJamz will be holding “The Crystal Ball Sessions” in Crystal City November 17, 18, 19, & 20, 2010 from 7:00 to 11:00 PM. ArtJammers will take over the entire 12th floor of a building in Crystal City for the biggest and most creative ArtJamz session yet! Register online to receive a canvas on an easel, paint and materials, and get four hours to create an original work of art – which is yours to take home. Wine and soft drinks, hors d’œuvres, great music, and an ArtJamz host are included.
In addition, the Super Crystal Sessions will be held 12/2 – 12/4 from 7-11pm and KidsJamz will be held Sunday 12/5 from 10:30 – 2:00 pm.

Clarendon Hearth, which opened in October 2010, is American Flatbread’s newest location serving wood fired pizza with regional and seasonal foods from Virginia agriculture. This week’s specials using seasonal local ingredients include Afghan Saffron Chicken Flatbread and Spaghetti Squash and Arugula Flatbread. This Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 from 7-9ish, they are holding a “Yards” Beer dinner with a four course meal paired with yard beers and a welcome pint from “Yards.” $20 deposit holds your seat. Beer tastings are held monthly so check their website for future events.

District Taco is located at 5723 Lee Highway in North Arlington with another location in Rosslyn. Run by the owners of a popular food cart, the restaurant is now open from 7am to 9 pm daily, serves breakfast all day, has $5 kids’ meals, $2.25 tacos, and burritos, quesadillas, salads and nachos burrachos for just $7-8.
Arlington Makes List of Top 10 Richest Counties in America
Arlington County was listed as the fifth richest county in American according to Main Street’s post published this week. The median household income is $96,218 and 47% of employed residents make over six figures a year. 2009 Census data from the American Community Survey was used to rank the top 10 richest counties in America according to median household income. Seven of the top ten are in the Washington-Baltimore Metropolitan area, including the top place, Loudoun County.
