Fort Myer Bowling Center holds Rock and Roll Fridays and Saturdays from 8 PM – midnight. Colored lights flash with the music and pins are glow-in-the-dark. Just $3.50 per game (plus $2 for shoes).
#160 – Get a Free Dessert
To celebrate the premiere of Top Chef Just Desserts many area restaurants are offering a free dessert! Make an online reservation from Open Table and dine at one of the participating restaurants on September 15, 2010 and you will get a free dessert for every 2 diners at your table. Each person must order a minimum of one entrée. Arlington restaurants include Ping, Extra Virgin, Melting Pot, Piola, Sushi Rock, cityhouse, Cafe Italia, Cucina Vivace, and Pinzimini.

#159 – Go to Screwtop Wine Bar
Check out Screwtop for wine, cheese and charcuterie in Clarendon. Located at 1025 N. Fillmore Street, this wine bar, retailer, restaurant and event location offers wine classes, free tastings, and themed happy hours, including “Thumbs Up Tuesday” with $4 beer, wine and select appetizers from 4-7 and “Wino Wednesday” with $10 off select bottles of wine.
#158 – Check out Crystal City Sports Pub
If you want to watch your alma mater or your favorite pro team you might want to gather your group at Crystal City Sports Pub which features over 100 televisions on three levels. Check their website for schedules and special events like March Madness, Baseball’s Opening Day Party, and Trivia Kings. They also have pool tables, foosball tables, video games, off-track betting, pinball machines, dart lanes and a silver strike bowling game.
#157 – Dine at Sushi Rock
Sushi Rock on Clarendon Boulevard features menu items include the springsteen, the zappa, the ziggy stardust roll and stairway to heaven. According to their website, “Sushi Rock is a modern, up to date, take on two things that just about everyone seems to enjoy in their lives; fun music and sharing food together.”
#156 – Attend the Rosslyn Jazz Festival
The Rosslyn Jazz Festival is an annual event typically held the second Saturday in September at Gateway Park and features several local and national artists as well as a street fair along Lee Highway with food and artisan vendors.
For 2021, there will be some pop up events on September 8th, a jazz supper club on September 9th at Amuse, and the event at Gateway Park on September 18th. Check the Rosslyn BID site for this year’s schedule.
