Dine at Lebanese Taverna

Lebanese Taverna
The original Lebanese Taverna in Westover has been serving classic Eastern Mediterranean food since 1979. They also have a location at Pentagon Row. You can choose from a variety of hot and cold mezzas or entrees.  And check out Mezze Monday for an all you can eat Mezze for one fixed price per person. Both locations offer otudoor dining.  You can also pick up food to go at the Lebanese Taverna Market or visit LebTav for fast-casual dining.

Lebanese Taverna was founded in Arlington’s Westover neighborhood in 1979 by Tanios and Marie Abi-Najm, who had escaped civil war in Beirut just three years earlier, introducing classic Lebanese family cooking to the DC area and growing over four decades into one of the region’s most beloved restaurant institutions — now run by the five Abi-Najm siblings with a dozen locations across Washington, DC, its suburbs, and Baltimore. The original Westover location at 5900 Washington Boulevard remains the heart of the enterprise — a warmly lit dining room where the mezze arrives on small plates and the conversation tends to linger long after the bill. The spread is extraordinary: hummus, baba ghanouj, fattoush, kibbeh, lamb dishes, fresh-baked pita, and an award-winning wine list stocked with Lebanese vintages rarely found elsewhere in the area.

LebTav brings the same homestyle Lebanese and Mediterranean cooking to a fast-casual format, offering falafel, shawarma, ouzi, and salmon as salads and bowls alongside signature sides — a weekday lunch solution that’s genuinely better than it needs to be. The Westpost LebTav location at 1101 S. Joyce Street is especially convenient for South Arlington residents and those coming off the Pentagon City Metro. There is also a Ballston location of LebTav. The full-service Westpost restaurant also features over 25 appetizers and salads, a large selection of vegetarian dishes, grilled lamb, beef, chicken, and fish entrees, and an award-winning wine list. All meats across all locations are halal-certified.
