#59 – Eat at Earl’s Sandwiches

Earl’s Sandwiches has been a beloved Arlington institution since opening in 2005, earning the Washington Post’s award for Best Sandwich Shop and a loyal following that has kept it thriving for two decades. Located at 2605 Wilson Blvd in the Virginia Square neighborhood — a short walk from the Virginia Square-GMU Metro station — Earl’s built its reputation on three founding principles: roasting whole turkeys, center-cut pork loin, and eye-of-round beef in-house every day (no processed deli meats), crafting all soups and sauces from scratch, and serving breakfast sandwiches all day long.
The menu has grown over the years to include grilled salmon, deep-fried cod, and creative sandwiches like the Cuban Club and Bay of Pigs (pork, prosciutto, provolone on pressed ciabatta), alongside classics like the Turkey Cranberry and Roasted Earl. Catering for offices large and small is a specialty. Hours are Monday–Friday 10:30 a.m.–8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.–8 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Visit earlsinarlington.com or call (703) 248-0150.
