Catch Free Live Music All Summer Long at Central Place Plaza in Rosslyn

Central Place Plaza, perched directly above the Rosslyn Metro station at 1800 N. Lynn Street, is one of the most programmatically active public spaces in all of Arlington — a glass-canopied urban plaza that the Rosslyn BID has transformed into a genuine community living room throughout the warmer months. The Rosslyn BID leads programming of over 100 events every year on the plaza, drawing more than 30,000 attendees across a calendar that spans free concerts, art installations, farmers markets, fitness classes, seasonal celebrations, and cultural events. The plaza’s design — with broad steps, custom plantings, an observation deck, and an open dining area under its signature glass canopy — makes it equally suited for a spontaneous stop and a planned evening out.
The summer music programming is the centerpiece. The Wednesday Summer Music Series runs from 4 to 6:30 p.m. weekly throughout the summer, paired with the FRESHFARM Farmers Market operating on the plaza from 3 to 7 p.m. — creating a built-in pre-concert market experience with local produce, artisan vendors, and prepared foods. The Rosslyn Rocks series adds Thursday evening concerts from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on select dates, with a cash bar, lawn games, and a rotating lineup of regional bands spanning country, rock, funk, and pop—all free and open to the public. The season culminates with the Rosslyn Jazz Fest each September at nearby Gateway Park. Check rosslynva.org for the complete summer schedule and to sign up for the weekly events newsletter.
