Sip Something Special at an Arlington Wine Bar

Arlington’s wine bars range from cozy neighborhood spots to polished sit-down destinations. Screwtop Wine Bar, a Clarendon neighborhood staple at 1025 N. Fillmore Street, underwent new ownership in 2024 under Arlington locals who have elevated the wine selection, updated the menu thoughtfully, and brought a renewed warmth and attentiveness to the staff — while maintaining the beloved wine tastings, classes, cheese flights, and a wine club membership that loyal regulars have counted on for years. The famous nachos and grilled cheese remain on the menu alongside a weekend brunch program with avocado toast and smoked salmon bagels. Open Monday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday until 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 11 p.m., and Sunday until 9 p.m.

Verre Wine Bar Arlington

Verre Wine Bar at 2415 Wilson Boulevard in Courthouse opened in 2019 with a mission to make great wine approachable and fun for everyone in Arlington — curating small-production, family-run wineries from around the world and offering them by the glass at accessible prices, with daily happy hour and a cozy indoor/outdoor vibe. The famed Brie and Fig flatbread and scratch-made dishes have made Verre as much a food destination as a wine one, and the Wine Club offers exclusive tastings and discounts for regulars. Rounding out the current Arlington wine bar landscape: Northside Social Coffee & Wine, Simona Cafe, Brut Champagne and Wine Bar, Bar a Vin, Sixty Vines, and CIRCA at Clarendon — each with its own character and specialty.
