The US Army Blues will be taming up with The US Army Orchestra and soloists from the Army Chorus, Downrange, and Army Voices for two performances in tribute of Black History Month. The performances will be held at Brucker Hall in Ft. Myer on Friday, February 21st, 2014 at 7:30 and Sunday, February 23rd at 3:00. Music from some of America’s most iconic African-American jazz composers and musicians, including Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday will be performed as well as a world premiere of a jazz orchestra arrangement of a Freddie Hubbard composition and rarely heard works by James Reese Europe, a World War I bandleader.
