Northside Social is a coffee shop, wine bar and cafe located in Clarendon. They are part of the local restaurant group that owns Liberty Tavern and Lyon Hall.
#133 – Come to the Shirlington Summer Jazz Series
Stop by The Village at Shirlington Thursdays in July and August from 6:30 to 8:30 for live music and wine tastings in the summer Jazz Series. The performances are held in the plaza in front of the Shirlington Library. Check their website for 2011 dates.
#132 – Come to the Arlington County Fair
Held at Thomas Jefferson Community Center every August, the Arlington County Fair is one of the largest free events on the East Coast. The fair has carnival rides, entertainment, food vendors, piglet races, competitive events and outdoor movie nights. It typically begins with outdoor activities on the first Wednesday and Thursday evening in August and continues with indoor and outdoor events Friday through Sunday.

#131 – Join Fresh Bikes for Group Bike Rides
Fresh Bikes holds Tuesday night group rides in warmer weather from 6:30-7:30. Meet at Mosaic Park behind Conte’s in Arlington. Riders are placed into three groups based on speed and each group has its own leader. This years Tuesday night rides begin May 3, 2011. They also have a fast-paced women’s only ride on the second Tuesday of the month, starting May 10th, 2011. This will be a 15-mile, hilly loop through Arlington. The “Team Sticky Fingers” ride also starts out of the park adjacent the Fresh Bikes parking lot at 6:30pm. Visit Conte’s website for more information.
#130 – Celebrate Summer Restaurant Week
August 16th-22nd, 2010 is DC Restaurant Week. Many restaurants are offering three course fixed price meals for $20.10 at lunch and $35.10 at dinner. Participating Arlington restaurants include cityhouse, Jaleo, Me Jana, Sette Bello, Willow, Liberty Tavern, and Harry’s Tap Room, among many others. This is an annual event so check back for 2011 dates.
#129 – Check out Galaxy Hut
Galaxy Hut on Wilson Boulevard between Clarendon and Courthouse is a tiny laid back indie rock hangout with live music Sunday and Monday nights and a large selection of draft beers.
