The 6th annual Ice Champions Live will be held Sunday, Oct 24, 2010 at 5:00 PM at the Kettler Iceplex. Ticket prices begin at $30. This year’s show will include performances by Brian Boitano, Ilia Kulik, Michael Weiss, Dan Hollander, Ryan Bradley, Sinead and John Kerr, Christina Gao and Kimmie Meisner among others.

The 88th Annual Lyon Park Spring Fair will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 11-3 PM. Take some time out from your errands and stop by to enjoy the festivities! Lyon Park is located at 414 N. Fillmore Street, and is the only privately owned park in Arlington. The fair, to be held rain or shine, will include pony rides, moon bounces, plant and book sales, carnival games with prizes, cake walks, vendor tables, music and more!

Don’t miss Tuckahoe’s Elementary School’s Annual Home and Garden Tour, an annual fundraiser to benefit the Tuckahoe Discovery Schoolyard, typically held in mid-late May. Try the newly opened Pupatella Neopolitan Pizzeria on Wilson Boulevard. They are known for their red food cart at the Ballston Metro. The pizzeria has a wood fired pizza oven that heats up to 800-1000 degrees, meaning pizzas cook in about 1 minute. They have a great outdoor space as well. And have now opened a second Arlington location on S. Walter Reed Drive as well as expanding to other locations in the DC metropolitan area and Richmond.

While technically a part of Washington, D.C., Theodore Roosevelt Island is only accessible via a Mount Vernon Trail footbridge from the Arlington side of the Potomac. Featuring a memorial to the famed “Rough Rider,” conservationist, trustbuster, and 26th President of the United States, the Island also features a network of trails and ranger-led tours.
