With Earth Day coming up Monday, April 22nd, 2013, there are several related activities going on in Arlington. There is an E-Care Recycling Event at Thomas Jefferson Community Center on Saturday, April 20th from 8:30-3. On Sunday, April 21st, Arlington’s Green Living Expo will be partnered with George Mason University’s Earth Week Community Fair to be held at GMU’s Arlington campus from noon-4:30. Mason’s Office of Sustainability is also hosting speakers, workshops, volunteer opportunities and other activities throughout the month of April. For a list of events, click the Office of Sustainability’s link here. And on Monday, April 22nd, the Nauck Community Services Center will be holding a recycling fundraising event from 10-4.
Feed the Pike
The first ever Columbia Pike Restaurant Week will be held February 18, 2013 and runs through February 24th. More than a dozen Columbia Pike restaurants will be featuring $25 dinners and $10 lunches, including Lost Dog Cafe, Bangkok 54, Taqueria Poblano and Twisted Vines. The Village of Shirlington Restaurant Week
The Village at Shirlington announces the return of Shirlington Restaurant Week, Monday, October 8 through Sunday, October 14, 2012. Featuring 16 local restaurants, Shirlington Restaurant Week will offer patrons two-course lunches for $12, three-course dinners for $25 as well as beverage deals from restaurants including Aroma Indian Cuisine, Capital City Brewing Company, PING by Charlie Chiang’s, T.H.A.I. Oktoberfest October 6th, 2012
Capital City Brewing Company is hosing it’s annual Oktoberfest Beer Festival at The Village in Shirlington on Saturday, October 6th from 12-7 PM. More than 50 breweries will be giving out 4 oz samples. There will also be local food vendors, an authentic German band and authentic Oktoberfest food. Tickets are $25 if you plan to sample the beer, but if not, it is free. For more details go to the Capital City Oktoberfest website
