Participate in DC Dining Out for Life on Thursday, March 10th, 2011. Participating restaurants will donate from 25-110% of your bill to Food & Friends which prepares, packages and delivers meals and groceries to more than 2,800 people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Arlington Restaurants participating in the program include Carlyle in Shirlington, which is a sponsor, Santa Fe Cafe (which will donate 50% of the bill), Freddie’s Beach Bar (110%), Delhi Club (35%), Thaiphoon (25%), Busboys and Poets (35%), Luna Grill (35%), Domaso (25%) and Guapo (25%).

This annual event will be held from 11-4 Sunday, March 13th, 2011 at the Holiday Inn in Rosslyn. Admission is $10 with free parking. There will be 50 tables of CDVs, stereoviews, dagguerotypes and photographs and other antique photo imagery for sale. For more information, visit the website here.

In the past Arlington has had a booth at the main Arlington Post Office during NCPW to teach consumers how to protect their privacy, stay safe online, avoid identity theft and steer clear of the latest fraud schemes. Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras Parade
One of Arlington’s big annual events is the Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras parade held on Fat Tuesday every year. For 2015, the parade will be on Tuesday, February 17th beginning at 8 PM. The parade route runs down Wilson Blvd. from N. Barton Street to Washington Boulevard. A pre-parade party will be held outside Bayou Bakery beginning at 6. The Front Page Restaurant and Bar in Ballston has “Thirsty Thursday Taco Toss” with 2 tacos for $1 from 5-8 pm and a DJ Dance Party. During away Caps games you can come “Rock the Red” with a viewing party. They have a “Build Your Own Pasta Bar” on Mondays, Trivia Night on Tuesdays and Half Price Burgers on Wednesdays. Weekend specials change throughout the year but right now they are having “Dewey Beach Weekend Parties” with music.
