The holidays are a great time to give something back to the community. Volunteer Arlington allows you to register online for holiday volunteer projects. While there are special needs during the holidays, many of these organizations can use volunteer assistance year round.

#226 – Drop your middle schooler off at the Little Falls Dance
Little Falls Presbyterian Church at 6025 Little Falls Road holds monthly chaperoned dances during the school year for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Please use the Williamsburg Blvd. entrance. Lines can form early and there is a limit to how many can get inside. $7 admission.

Four top wine educators from Arlington’s best wine shops, including Arrowine, Best Cellars, Curious Grape and Screwtop Wine Bar, will be conducting Thursday WineTastings 11/18- 1/13 from 6:15 to 7:30 at Town Square at the Artisphere in Rosslyn. $30 per person. This week’s tasting focuses on Wines for Thanksgiving and helps you understand which wines go best with turkey, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.

#223 – Unleash Your Inner Artist at ArtJamz

ArtJamz will be holding “The Crystal Ball Sessions” in Crystal City November 17, 18, 19, & 20, 2010 from 7:00 to 11:00 PM. ArtJammers will take over the entire 12th floor of a building in Crystal City for the biggest and most creative ArtJamz session yet! Register online to receive a canvas on an easel, paint and materials, and get four hours to create an original work of art – which is yours to take home. Wine and soft drinks, hors d’œuvres, great music, and an ArtJamz host are included.
In addition, the Super Crystal Sessions will be held 12/2 – 12/4 from 7-11pm and KidsJamz will be held Sunday 12/5 from 10:30 – 2:00 pm.
