2015 Arlington County Fair
The 2015 Arlington County Fair begins Wednesday August 5th and will run through Sunday, August 9th at Thomas Jefferson Community Center. The fair features competitive exhibits, carnival rides, food vendors, piglet races, pony rides, a kids court with face painting, inflatables, and other games and activities, entertainment including appearances by the Harlem Wizards, musical groups and outdoor movies.
This year the fair begins with an opening parade at Highland and 2nd Street S. on Wednesday August 5th at 6:00 pm. For hours, schedule of performances and more information, visit the Arlington County Fair website.

4th of July 2015 Celebration in Arlington
Wondering where to celebrate the 4th of July in Arlington?
The fourth annual 4th of July celebration at Long Bridge Park will be held Saturday, July 54 2015 from 5-10 PM. Come enjoy live music, games, food trucks and a fantastic view of the fireworks.he event will feature fun for the whole family, including a food trucks, live music,
There is no on-site parking for the event with the exception of vehicles displaying disability hang tags (limited availability). There will be FREE shuttles running continuously during the event with stops at Crystal City (bus bay C on Bell Street) and Pentagon City (pick up at the bus shelter on Hayes Street at 12th Street) and FREE parking nearby at the Shops at Crystal City parking garage. There is also some bicycle parking.
Leeway Overlee Yard Sale Set for June 7th, 2014
36th Annual Leeway Overlee Yard Sale and Community Day
The Leeway Overlee Community Day and Yard Sale will take place along the John Marshall Drive and the Ohio Street greenway in Arlington on Saturday, June 7th, 2014 from 9 am to 1 pm. Stop by to meet and greet your neighbors, set up a table to sell unneeded household items or pick up some great bargains to take home. There will also be live music. If you plan to set up a table, please do not do set it up before 7 am in consideration of the neighbors. Vehicle traffic will be restricted in the area but please drive carefully where cars are allowed. Each seller is asked to pay $5 to defray the costs of the entertainment and the newspaper advertisement which will be collected during the event. Please leave dogs at home.

Neighborhood Day 2014 is Saturday, May 17th
Neighborhood Day
Neighborhood Day is held annually to celebrate community within Arlington neighborhoods. Typically held the second or third Saturday in May, neighborhoods may host yard sales, festivals, barbecues or other events. .
For 2014, these events include:
- Truck Day at Central Library from 9-11 for residents of the Ballston-Virginia Square neighborhood – the rear parking lot will have fire trucks, police cars, trash trucks, construction vehicles, a commuter bus and more.
- Family Fun Day at Alcova Heights Park; 10 a.m.-2 p.m. -bring a picnic and enjoy games, fitness demos, 1st Tee Golf, YoKids Yoga,
- Fairlington Day at Fairlington Community Center Grounds, 11 a.m. – grilled hot dogs, drinks, an inflatable obstacle course and other children’s activities
- Turtle Trot 5K Race at Lower Bluemont Park (329 N. Manchester St.), 10 a.m. – registration closes 5/16 at 8:59 am
- Nauck Neighborhood Clean-Up – the County will pick up furniture, brush, bikes and other acceptable items from the curb.
