OPEN International is a foundation started by Arlingtonian Khady Lusby to build a school in Nioro Senegal. The concert will be held at Arlington Traditional School Friday, March 18th, 2011 from 6:30-8:30 and will include performances from current and former ATS students. #340 – Come to the Green Living Expo
Arlington has been holding an annual Green Living Expo in March or April. The event is family friendly and free to the public. For 2014, the event will be held April 26th from 10-4 at Founders Hall at the George Mason Arlington campus. Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras Parade
One of Arlington’s big annual events is the Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras parade held on Fat Tuesday every year. For 2015, the parade will be on Tuesday, February 17th beginning at 8 PM. The parade route runs down Wilson Blvd. from N. Barton Street to Washington Boulevard. A pre-parade party will be held outside Bayou Bakery beginning at 6. Come see the American Youth String Ensemble perform a varied selection of classical works in their “Musical Mosaic” at Kenmore Middle School on Saturday February 26th, 2011 at 3 PM or the American Youth Symphonic Orchestra and American Youth Concert Orchestra presenting “From Vienna to Seville” at 6 PM.

#317 – Have a Ball in Ballston
The Arlington Children and Nature Network is holding A Winter Nature Celebration Saturday, February 19, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This free event will include nature crafts, activity booths, penguin games, coupons from Kettler Capitals Iceplex, and a kid-friendly Ballston Walkabout with WalkArlington. Refreshments including hot beverages courtesy of Chick-fil-A. The Walkabout will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Ballston Mall Food Court.
