Try the newly opened Pupatella Neopolitan Pizzeria on Wilson Boulevard. They are known for their red food cart at the Ballston Metro. The pizzeria has a wood fired pizza oven that heats up to 800-1000 degrees, meaning pizzas cook in about 1 minute. They have a great outdoor space as well. And have now opened a second Arlington location on S. Walter Reed Drive as well as expanding to other locations in the DC metropolitan area and Richmond.
Market Tavern (formerly Harry’s Tap Room) in Clarendon offers a great selection including six kinds of Eggs Benedict, omelettes, french toast, steak and eggs as well as soups, salads and sandwiches. And don’t let the name fool you – this is a very family friendly place with a great kids menu.
It’s also a great place for dinner with an upstairs dining room, the Chophouse, specializing in steaks, chops and casseroles and the downstairs tavern with burgers, sandwiches, small plates, sharables, soups and salads. Both offer 26 beers on tap and 76 wines by the glass.

Try The Melting Pot in Ballston for fabulous fondue. They offer a special “date night” combination for two every Thursday, Military Appreciation Night every Monday and Girls’ Night Out the 2nd Tuesday of every month. 
The Renegade in Clarendon is open from 11 am – 2 am Mondays-Saturdays and 11 am – 9 pm Sundays with live music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. They are open for dine-in, patio service, takeout and delivery and also do catering and private events. Happy Hours occur every day from 4-7PM

Toby’s Homemade Ice Cream at Westover Village (formerly Scoops Beauregard’s) serves up gourmet superpremium ice cream they say is richer and fuller in flavor than mass produced frozen desserts. All students receive a 15% discount on school days until 4 PM while Swanson Middle School students amd Shop Arlington card holders receive 15% off one ice cream item anytime. Toby’s also sells ice cream cakes, and has coffee, espresso and during the winter months, hot chocolate (as well as frozen hot chocolate).
Toby’s now has a location at National Landing as well.
Try The Salsa Room on Columbia Pike for dinner and dancing. The club, formerly known as Ceclias, has consistently offered live international Latin acts. They also offer classes and special events throughout the year, including a New Year’s Day event known as Fade2Black coming up on 1-1-11 where you can get a VIP card offering discounted admission for the rest of the year and take salsa and bachata classes. Regular weekly events include “Salsa State of Mind” Thursdays, “Salsa Obsession” Fridays and “Visage” Saturdays. Check their website for details.
