Bluemont Park will be the site of the Animal Welfare League of Arlington’s 15th Annual Walk for the Animals to help homeless animals in our community. Join in for a one mile stroll or the three mile loop. Dogs may accompany their owners but for their safety, cats and other pets should be left at home. Registration begins at 8:30 and the walk kicks off at 9:30.

2010 Rosslyn Film Festival Begins April 30th
The Rosslyn Summer Outdoor Film Festival begins April 30th and will run Friday evenings at Dusk through September 3rd. This year’s theme is “I Love the 90’s.”
The movies are shown at Gateway Park at Lee Highway near Key Bridge and is free to the public. People are encouraged to bring blankets and low chairs to picnic in the park before the show.
Friends of the Public Library Book Sale April 22-25, 2010
The Friends of the Library book sale begins today. Members only can purchase books on Thursday April 22nd from 5:30 – 9 at the parking garage of Arlington Central Library, level G-1. Memberships are available at the door. The public is invited from 10-6 Friday and Saturday and from 12-6 Sunday when everything will be half price.
Touch the Earth Celebration Set for April 25th, 2010
Arlington’s Children and Nature Network, Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment, WalkArlington and Potomac Overlook Park are hosting a “Touch the Earth” celebration in honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.
