Touch the Earth Celebration Set for April 25th, 2010

Trout Fishing Season Begins March 20th

“Kids Only” fishing event in the Four Mile Run stream begins at 9:00 am in Bon Air Park and lasts until 1:00 pm.  Adults can begin fishing after 1:00 and fishing is allowed daily throughout trout season.

Taste of Arlington Scheduled for May 16th

The 23rd annual taste of Arlington featuring food from over 40 area restaurants will be held in the Ballston area on Sunday, May 16, 2010 from noon to 5 PM.  Discount tickets ($15 for 8 tastings v. $25 at the gate) are available until March 15th.

Arlington School Board Adopts Snow Day Make Up Plan

The Arlington county school board voted to adopt Phase I of the school makeup plan which makes up enough days for the school missed through February 16th.  The plan begins March 1st and includes eliminating days off for parent teacher conferences March 4th and 5th, eliminating the teacher work day April 5th, and eliminating early release Wednesdays in the elementary schools.

Arlington Has New Snow Learning Page

Arlington Public Schools will be closed Tuesday February 9th

APS Schools Closed (Offices Open)
Update for Tue, Feb. 9: All Arlington Public Schools will be closed on Tue, Feb. 9. Offices will be open and 12-month employees may take unscheduled leave. Essential personnel are to report to work. The W-L pool will open at 11:30 a.m. All other pools will be closed. Extracurricular activities, interscholastic contests, team practices, field trips, adult and community education classes, and recreation programs in schools and on school grounds are canceled. For updates about Arlington County operations go to www.arlingtonva.us.
